formed by members of
THE HOLY KISS in 2009. the brooklyn based postpunk-band released
a first split 7" with MONOZID on german "Majorlabel" in october
2010, followed by an european tour. with shows in germany,
belgium, france, switzerland, austria and poland. after
recording sessions with Peter Mavrogeorgis (producer for THE
NATIONAL) and Jim Sclavunos (drummer for NICK CAVE & THE BAD
SEEDS and GRINDERMAN) the band released their debut lp in autumn
2012. BOOTBLACKS embrace a love for both the rawness of bands
like JOY DIVISION and BAUHAUS, as well as the catchy melodies of
bands like DEPECHE MODE and SIMPLE MINDS. for the tour a 3-song
EP will be out on chicago based "modern tapes" label.
